Service Description

Travel companions are in demand as the market grows for senior and disabled adults who require assistance for traveling. This 2-day interactive program provides detailed training to a variety of professionals interested in starting a business or working as a travel companion. Participants will gain knowledge and skills to assess, plan and execute travel to meet the unique needs of a variety of clients with travel challenges. When: Friday, April 19th - 8:00am – 4:00 CST Saturday, April 20th, 2023 - 7:30am - 3:30pm CST Minneapolis St. Paul Airport (MSP) - Metropolitan Room Participants Will Walk Away With: -Business strategies to create and succeed in your own travel companion company -Abilities to assess and mitigate possible health and behavioral challenges during travel -Approaches to maintain client safety and comfort throughout travel -Tactics to plan, problem-solve and orchestrate a variety of travel scenarios Who Should Attend: -Individuals with health or social service backgrounds serving older adults -Travel savvy individuals with excellent interpersonal skills What’s Included: -Lectures, handouts, forms, “Travel Well” book, travel tools to get your business started -Ongoing mentoring following training -Sample Business Forms -Sample Assessment and Intake Forms -Listed as a Certified Senior TravALZ Companion to website and the opportunity to receive client referrals from Faculty Cost: $1,800 - Inclusive of all training, materials, breakfast and lunch both days, and mentoring to completion of an actual trip and certification. Cancellation Policy

IN-PERSON EVENT ON APRIL 19TH-20TH: Cancellations made before March 29th, 2024 will be subject to a full refund (excluding the credit card processing fee). Cancellations made after March 30th, 2024 will get a 50% refund.
